Lesson plan 1= Dividing Regions into Equal Parts Hersheys Book Students were given a Hershey’s Chocolate Bar to make and label fractions. We read the Hershey’s Fraction Book by Jerry Pallota and made fractions like the ones shown in the book. Then students had to choose a fraction to model with their candy bar. Students also compared the fractions.
Fraction Books Globes = For social studies we made paper mache globes ( labeled latitude and longitude) located all continents and talked about 1/2 and 1/4ths
Lesson plan 2= Fractions and sets Fractions sets PPt Skittles worksheet Fractionpillars- this will be another activity that I would add to this lesson. Students each get 8 pompoms and create a caterpillar. Students fill out attched worksheet and I would use this as an assessment.
Lesson 4= Comparing with Benchmark Fractions Fraction Sundae (This lesson plan is missing in the cloud) I can't find it anywhere. It will teach me to save often :(
